Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of Inktile, the puzzle app for Android made by Tesserly, and the optional Inktile Premium upgrade. By installing or using Inktile you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. The app
Inktile contains two puzzle games, Trace and Tilt, with a daily puzzle, a Journey campaign and a Practice mode. The app works offline and does not require an account.
2. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Inktile on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app, extract its puzzles or levels in bulk, or reverse-engineer it, except where the law expressly allows it.
3. Inktile Premium
The free version of Inktile includes the daily puzzles, the Journey campaign and a limited number of Practice runs per day. Inktile Premium is an optional upgrade that unlocks extras such as the full archive of past daily puzzles and unlimited Practice runs. The exact features are shown in the app before you buy.
- How it is sold. Premium is sold through Google Play, either as a one-time purchase ("Lifetime") or as a subscription ("Annual"). Prices are shown in the app and in Google Play in your local currency before you pay.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions); Premium stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. A Lifetime purchase does not renew.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Google under the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Play's refund policies. We cannot issue refunds directly, but email us and we will help where we can.
- Premium is tied to the Google account that bought it and can be restored on another device signed in to the same account.
4. Your progress
Your progress is stored only on your device (see the Privacy Policy). If you delete the app or its data, or lose your phone without a backup, we cannot restore your progress, streaks or stars. Android Auto Backup, if you have it turned on, can carry your progress to a new phone.
5. Our content
The games, puzzles, levels, artwork, text and design of Inktile belong to Tesserly. You are welcome to share your own results, including the share cards the app creates.
6. Availability and changes
We may update Inktile, add or change puzzles and features, or fix mistakes in levels. We will not remove a Premium feature you have paid for without offering a reasonable alternative. We may stop offering the app in the future; because it works offline, the version on your device keeps working.
7. Disclaimer
Inktile is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Tesserly is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of Inktile. If a court holds us liable despite this, our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Inktile Premium in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, announced in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Tesserly operates. Disputes will first be addressed by good-faith communication; if not resolved, they will be handled in the appropriate local courts.
